Hello, my dear AndroMDA users,

this is to remind you of an exciting event - you are invited to come
to openAndroMDA 2004!

It takes place during the openArchitecture 2004 conference in Bonn,
Germany, and is a meeting of professional AndroMDA users (and
wanna-be-s) and the committers! Chad Brandon will be talking there
about OCL translation in AndroMDA, Wouter Zoons will give a session on
bpm4struts, and I will share my ideas about the future of this
exciting project with you. I'd also like to hear about the new ideas
that you have "cooking on your stove".

I'd really like welcome you all at

   openAndroMDA 2004
   November 30th, 2004
   Hilton Hotel, Bonn, Germany

an event that will take place co-located with the "openMDA 2004" and
"openArchitecture 2004" conferences which will present sessions about
MDA and about software architecture in general, too. You can find the
complete conference description with programme, speakers and online
registration form at http://www.openarchitecture.de . A description of
the location can be found at http://www.bonn-region.de/default_en.php

openMDA was a successful conference in September 2003. This year,
openAndroMDA and openMDA will both be tracks within openArchitecture
2004. openArchitecture has a broader software architecture scope and
will take a total of three days (Nov 30th - Dec 2nd), including all
tracks. Most of the conference is in German, openAndroMDA is mostly in
English.

openAndroMDA is an interactive session - committers and users of
AndroMDA will meet and share their experience. There will be short
talks by Chad, Wouter and me (about 30 minutes each) and there will
also be lots of space for discussion. Possible points during the
discussions could be:

* Reports from real world projects using AndroMDA
* New features in AndroMDA 3.0
* Migration from AndroMDA 2 to AndroMDA 3
* Template writer's experience
* News from OMG
* Future features and future direction of the project
* Regional beer, wine and good food
* and possibly many more ... <insert your own idea here!>

In the evening, we shall meet in an informal way.

The fee for attendees of openArchitecture 2004 (all three days) is EUR
1350 - if you register until September 30, you will receive a 15%
discount, so the rate is EUR 1170.

So, be fast, register online at http://www.openarchitecture.de/ and
come to the good old city of Bonn, the birthplace of Beethoven, on the
banks of the river Rhine, to share and hear news about AndroMDA.

I am really looking forward to see you at openAndroMDA!

Cheers...
Matthias

P.S.: openArchitecture itself is a first class conference on software
architecture. You will have the opportunity to learn from experienced
software architects about how to design for success. Just a few
highlights: Philippe Kruchten is there to talk about "Improving the
architecture process in RUP", Heide Balzert will show you how to use
the new UML 2.0 for architectural modeling and Johannes Siedersleben,
research fellow of sd&m, will tell you about QASAR, an established
architecture that has been used in many successful projects. Peter
Hruschka and Gernot Starke will give a tutorial on practical software
architecture, and I will be talking about performance modeling for
enterprise systems.
