Ability to ignore columns in a table during XMI generation process

It would be helpful to be able to specify ignore properties that designate
columns to skip during the transformation. A regular expression would solve the
case I'm currently confronted with. Not sure if other situations would be as
readily addressed by this approach.
eg, the table I want to transform has a goofy layout. Most of the columns are
duplicated by a second column of the same name followed by "_in".
