Hi AndroMDA users and developers,

I would like to let you know that we just release our 3.0 version of JAG:
a UML-based J2EE Application Generation. See http://jag.sourceforge.net .
There is a GUI from which you can easily create Entity EJBs and Session
EJBs and export them as XMI in a format compatible with the AndroMDA EJB
cartridge (Using <<Entity>> and <<Service>> stereotypes for example). So
for users of AndroMDA we think it's usefull to get started with a UML
Model for an EJB cartridge from an existing data model using an Intuitive
GUI.
We also started a thread on theserverside for those who are interested:
http://www.theserverside.com/home/thread.jsp?thread_id=22645
JAG is not a MDA tool, but it's great at generating a complete J2EE
project including a ant build file that can be built and deployed a J2EE
application all from the generated sources. The generated sources are
based on XDoclet, Struts, J2EE design patterns (Value objects, Session
Facade, FastLaneReader, Struts 1.1 etc..). The codegeneration templates
are written in Velocity, just like AndroMDA templates.

We hope you find JAG usefull!

Cheers,

Rudie Ekkelenkamp
