Subject: AndroMDA Questions

I am researching some MDA tools and yours seems the most promising so far because of its flexibility.  I have a few questions that I want to run by you when you get a chance to respond.

(1)  If I wanted to create a template to generate all the CREATE TABLE scripts for my Entities in a single file, how would I do that??  I think I could just put them in a UML Component and then add a stereotype to that Component for my SQL template.  In this template, I could enumerate through all the Class model elements and output the corresponding SQL statements in the same file.  Does this sound right??

(2)  How does the system support lifecycle management??  If I generate a class with an operation called getCustomersByName(String) and then I manually add the implementation code for that operation, will it be preserved the next time I generate that class??  I think your recommended solution is to create a subclass to handle this problem and not regenerate them, but I wanted to clarify before I go further.  If this turns out to be the answer, I have a solution that could help allow this to occur within the same file (I have done MDA before using Rose and their VBA like language to output java classes).

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

- Stan
