Humm, if I don't missed anything it seems that
EclipseUML Studio still retrieves its model
information from the generated Java files.

I was additionally unable to find a menu entry
which would allow one to export the whole project
to an XMI file ...

That would be cool if EclipseUML2 had correct XMI
export. Let us know what you find out.

Hello,

I am currently downloading EclipseUML studio. BTW -
For
all students out there: You will get EclipseUML for
free
if you beg one of your profs to apply for an
academic
license ;-)

Unfortunatly in the past EclipseUML Studio did not
support:

 * XMI exports
 * More then one stereotype per model element
 * Contsraints

If EclipseUML Studio 1.1.0 fully supports
EclipseUML2, it
might be possible do a correct XMI export.

Thanks a lot for this information.

Anyway, the free edition of Omondo does not

support user defined

profiles, which makes it worthless for AndroMDA.

See:

http://www.forum-omondo.com/viewtopic.php?t=458

IMO, for AndroMDA we need to have just a simple

UML tool which has

following requirements:

1. Complete UML diagrams (1.3, 1.4, 1.5, ...).
2. User defined Profiles (Stereotypes,

TaggedValues and Constraints).

3. XMI export (1.1, 1.2, ...).

That's it, no need for forward engineering,

reverse engineering, and

all those additional stuffs... ;-)

So at the moment I can only see one *free*

product: PoseidonUML CE which

supports all the requirements? Other products

which support all

the requirements above must be purchased, correct?

JFYI: OmondoUML is based on EMF (not MOF) for its

Metamodeling

framework, so the XMI version of OmondoUML might

not be compatible with

the real XMI standard. At least not in the 1.x

version.

A very nice article on this topic:
