You're right - I appreciate your scepticism: as the project evolves it's
getting its own life - and adding the right features at the right place
is one of the hardest in software development ;-) But I thought this was
a 'understandable' and platform-/layout-independent feature (which in my
eyes any positioning is not).

Walters approach is indeed very promising for further development, but
it will not make it into 3.0, or will it?
