You can always customize the mapping files and then use them (instead of
using the default ones bundled with the maven plugin), then you can add
whatever data types you want.

I am possibly running on the out-of-date files, (or worse this issue
already been raised :) ) but in the version I have there isn't a mapping
for "datatype.URL".
