I can't find those properties in my mda/project.xml. Regarding the docs, jndiNamePrefix should default to none, if it's not set. I don't know where ejb/ comes from.

I'm not sure this is your problem but I believe there is a problem with the namespace property ejb:jndiNamePrefix - it should really be named ejbJndiNamePrefix which it is called in the hibernate and webservice namespace. If you add <jndiNamePrefix>${pom.groupId}</jndiNamePrefix> just below <ejbJndiNamePrefix> in mda/project.xml
I am getting ClassCastExceptions from axis though but that may be un- related.
[CB] Are you getting class cast exceptions in JBoss or where?
