Dear Chad
Unfortunately not, however it should be fairly
simple to create a simple
poseidon model to try it out. If you have any
choice in the UML tool
you use, I would definitely recommend MD over
Poseidon, its just so much
easier to use (faster, supports so much more more,
like HREF modules
where you can have references to other models
without importing them,
Yes, Poseidon has beastly import handling.
tagged value definitions so you don't need to type
them over and over
again), and you can use the personal edition with
any of the AndroMDA
cartridges.
We're in a pilot project to demonstrate the value of
open source. Suppliers (like Oracle and Rational) are
hovering about waiting to pounce. Once the pilot is
successfully (June), I'll be able to request anything
I need, but the die is cast from now 'til then.
Darn..oh well, you should have no problems using AndroMDA with Poseidon
in the meantime (it just won't be as easy as it is with Magic Draw), but
just let us know when you run into any problems and we can help. One
tip I can give you, is that you should import the
andromda-profile-*.xml.zip (just unzip the xml.zip file to get the XMI
to import) into any model you're starting with (this will make all
AndroMDA stereotypes and datatypes available to your poseidon model, and
you won't need to hand type them in, unfortunately Poseidon doesn't
support tagged value definitions so you'll need to hand those in if you
decide to use any).
I'd be glad to provide more details, but it depends on
how this list reacts to off-topic meandering.
Best regards,
TC
