Hi Chad,

see http://www.caucho.com/hessian for more info on hessian.

It's a binary protocol. And the nice thing is, that it's already supported
with Spring. I guess it would also be quite easy to create a cartridge.
That's what I would try if you wouldn't like the approach adding hessian
support to the spring cartridge.

Ah so ties into Spring remoting right? We already have support for that then (I thought you were suggesting adding support to the webservice cartridge for it), unless you're talking about something else? (search for "remoting" on this page: http://www.andromda.org/andromda-spring-cartridge/namespace.html)

Hi,

the last days I was wondering on how I could easily change the webservices
from axis to hessian (http://www.caucho.com/hessian/) instead. I've had good
experience in my last project for a customer using resin & hessian, so for my
actual project, I' d like to use that combination again.

From what I can see, the only changes (if using the spring-cartridge) would be
to expose webservices with the HessianServiceExporter.
(see: http://www.springframework.org/docs/reference/remoting.html#d0e10243)

Does this sound reasonable? Would that be a feature for AndroMDA or should
I rather include it in my own local version?

Hey Jan,

Don't know much about hessian, is it a webservice framework like axis?
