Hi Tim,
That's for the great feedback! It's always good to hear when users are successful when using AndroMDA. I myself can't image doing an app without andromda now :). So you have experience with OptimalJ? How does AndroMDA compare to it (I've never tried it myself).
Thanks again,
Chad

Greetings,
I just wanted to share a success story regarding AndroMDA.
I am finishing a J2EE application today in a little over 2 weeks* using AndroMDA. Although this is not blindingly fast, I "learned as went" with regard to using MagicDraw and AndroMDA. Another application of similar complexity would probably take half the time now that I know how to model and tag for the tools.
The application has a domain model of 6 interrelated classes, 2 services
and 3 ui controllers. It is a web application and I had to code, in
Java, only about 500 lines. I would guess 95% of this coding was
implementing the business logic. It is a Struts web application with
Spring services and Hibernate data access.
None of that coding required knowledge of JSP, Servlets, Struts, Spring, Hibernate, JDBC, etc. Although I have experience with these libraries, I didn't need it. Also, since the application is modeled properly, I could easily switch to full-blown three-tier EJB in no-time, if I so desire [and I would NOT loose my afore mentioned 500 lines of coding effort, either!]
Thanks to all of the hard work of the AndroMDA developers!!!
-Tim
