Take care, when you modify your persistence (especially concerning already existing relations) it might be that this script does not work, because it uses information just generated by maven with your current model wich migt not be compatible with your current database schema. Then you have to remove/alter the tables manually. so, you can, if you know that your model will change dramatically, drop the schema before you generate any code and create it afterwards. BUT this is only usefull in early development, because it destroys your database tables with all your data.
