<languageMappingsUri>Java</languageMappingsUri> To change the java types, you just need to customize the java mappings file and instead of using 'Java' for the value above, put the URI to the customized mappings file: <languageMappingsUri>file:/path/to/mappings/JavaMappings.xml</languageMappingsUri> You can do the same thing for any of the mapping files (jdbcMappingsUri, etc).
