Maybe the best solution is to include the actual package in the filtering (lke 
you suggested initially) .  I was trying to keep consistent behavior and since 
the package is a model element of another package I wasn't gonna filter it out, 
but it sounds like it may be more beneficial to filter it out as well (from 
your example).   Can you think of any side-affects of including the actual 
package in the filtering?
