What problems did you run into?  You shouldn't have any problems with that one. 
 You can actually take the maven-andromdapp-plugin from the latest 
(3.1-RC1-SNAPSHOT) and then just go into the project.xml of it and change the 
version to 3.1-M1 for all the andromda dependencies (since you want to still 
with 3.1-M1).
