as explained in the howto

will most of the time need to execute your own code when something happens in 
the process flow, we denote this by deferring control to an operation of a 
specific class



UML allows us to assign a class as the context of an activity graph, so we use 
it as the container of these operations



the controller may be empty and you may choose to not defer control at all (not 
sure what good it will do since no business code will be executed), in theory 
the use-case with the activity graph is enough
