I'm sorry to clutter this forum with rudimentary UML modelling questions,

but I haven't found any other decent resources (or communities) where my

curiosities might be satisfied.

Can I use UML to model to define specific (fixed) instances of objects? I

don't expect any codegen from this, I'd just like to capture this knowledge

in the model. If my model contained a BranchOffice class with a one-many

relationship to a SalesTerritory and I wanted to actually define all of the

BranchOffices and SalesTerritories in a model, how would I do this? I've

tried creating Object elements in a class diagram, and this does solve part

of my problem (because I can set Slot values on each Object), but I can't

figure out how to model the one-many relationship between the BranchOffice

and its SalesTerritories. I'm using MagicDraw, and I can only use a Link

or Dependency between the instances. Unfortunately, neither enforce

the one-many association defined on the BranchOffice->SalesTerritory

association.

Am I trying to do something that UML is not meant to do? Or is there

some way to express (and enforce) the relationship between the instances

in the model?

(BTW, if someone could point me to a better place to ask such (inane?)

questions, I'd be grateful.)

thanks.
