??  My machine keeps pretty good time, suspended, re-booted, or 
whatever.  I don't know whether or not there is a ntp client running in 
the background, but it's within a minute of my desktop (which does use a 
time server), and I haven't set the clock since I switched to Angstrom 2 
months ago.
