Hi,
Some years ago Graeme and I looked at using thumb and weren't really
impressed with the space savings, but lately Phil has been fixing a
lot of stuff in OE:

Since armv4t machines are cache-starved and don't have a VFP unit I'd
like to propose that angstrom will use thumb by default for armv4t
machines.
If someone can pony up a benchmark for armv5t we can consider
switching that as well.
Armv6 has an vfp, so thumb not really worth it, and we don't have any
arm1176 based machines to use thumb2 with. Armv7a has 512kB L2 cache,
so thumb isn't really needed there.
thoughts, suggestions?
Koen
Sounds like a good idea.
