Hi List,

I did not forget that I should post patches to the list as soon as I was able to compile opie-image for my PalmLD. Unfortunately I was not able to do that. (I tried to take smaller steps to post patches but in the meantime I moved from one computer to another and fetching some of the sources fail.)

How I'm able to tell that a package which uses git repository sources should download a given commit id from the git repository? hackndev's linux repository most of the time contains buggy HEAD reference and the recipes freeze on the do_fetch. From now I'm even unable to find how to clone a given commit id and its path, not the full repository. Last time I was able to manage a full compilation (those days back in time when openembedded used a monotone repository), there was some PREFERRED_VERSION mechanism. I found that there is a palmld.conf file which I should probably alter, but do not remember the syntax of PREFERRED_VERSION. (Unfortunatelly these files were lost because a computer failure :( )

(Hint: always have backup, learned it hard way.)

Thanks in forward,
Attila
