Hello, There are a few problems on Beagleboard Angstrom. Those problems were discovered on the Touch Book and are confirmed on the beagleboard with the Linuxtag image:
Problem #1: bc-cube doesn't work in 16 bit though it works in 32 bit with or without VRFB. Problem #2: dsplink doesn't work if it runs as a non-root user. There is a decode thread problem. No udev rule seems to fix the problem. Problem #3: Regarding dsplink, if VRFB is enabled, the video output is screwed while using omapdmaifbsink. It's working without VRFB and dspbridge/gst-omapfb works well with or without VRFB. It seems that "gfxAttrs.dim.lineLength = omapfbsink->fixinfo.line_length;" is not really taken into account in the code of omapdmaifbsink. Problem #4: cheese doesn't work properly. The webcam image is half screwed. More precisely, libv4l generates a lot of errors even with an upgrade of this component (see AI tree). Reverting to the previous state where gst-plugins-good was not using libv4l avoids the problem. My current configuration is 16bit-VRFB. Problem 5: The brigthness applet doesn't work and doesn't change the brightness. Further investigations show that the applet behaves correctly, as well as "dbus-send ... SetBrightness". But the applet calls org.Gnome.Power and this space doesn't seem to be available. Problem 6: cacao and classpath-gtk don't work as well as there were before. Running a simple applet such as: http://git.alwaysinnovating.com/cgit.cgi/ai.openembedded.dev/tree/aios/postprocess/usr/bin/ai/test/InfixCalculator.jar generates a lot of error. It may be due to a bad gtk+ update as the cacao/classpath* packages don't seem to have been changed. Problem 7: Chromium recipe starts to be a little bit old. I have an upgraded recipe which compiles and runs but then any page fails loading with a nss error. Confirmation that I'm not the only one with this problem would be a plus. Getting a confirmation, then a fix or the contact person who can fix those problems would be appreciated, Grégoire Gentil Founder Always Innovating _______________________________________________ Angstrom-distro-devel mailing list Angstrom-distro-devel@linuxtogo.org http://lists.linuxtogo.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/angstrom-distro-devel
