I just ran a diff on the default kernel configs from the v2013 and the v2015-6: Tons of stuff changed. There's a couple of things that could be interesting like vt, framebuffer and touchscreen options, but since I'm in the deep end here, I don't really know what to touch. The debian image also has fbtft_device but since angstrom v2013 didn't have it, I guess I don't need it?
