I currently have a C-1000 (Akita) with Open Zaurus 3.5.4.1 (Opie)
installed on it.
I have been using Open Zaurus ROMS for several years on a 5500 and a
6000, always with Opie, and apart from installing a few applications
with ipkg, have not modified anything.

It's obvious if I wan to keep up-to-date that I will now have to
install Angstrom, and my first attempt failed miserably. I got the
basic OS going fine, but had no connectivity. There were no
networking programs (ifconfig and friends) and although I could
configure my network in the GUI, the WCF11 wifi card was never
recognized. Everything I read on the wiki seems to be directed to
people who can compile the software on a PC and then download it to
the Zaurus. In short, Linux developers - which I am NOT.

As I look at the installation images directory, I know that I need to
use one of the jffs2 files, but there are seven of them and I can't
figure out from the file names which one I need.

I'm just looking for a basic installation - I don't need the PDA
stuff at all - but I do need support for the WCF11 wireless card and
WPS/PSK encryption (which is the stumbling block for OZ 3.5.4.1, and
why I'm looking to upgrade in the first place).

I'd be very grateful for some guidance here. My abilities are pretty
much limited to downloading files and installing them.

Walt
