Hey all,
I'm not sure exactly what caused this - I think it probably happened
when I was either installing some package or upgrading Angstrom, but
all my icons have been duplicated. Does anyone have any idea of what
could have caused this, or how I can rectify it?
I'm on a SL-C3200 using the 20070604 Spitz X11 image as a base and
have since ipkg update && ipkg upgrade, as well as installing the
following packages (Taken from the list of packages I intend on
installing again should I reinstall - ie I installed a few other ones
as well that I have since removed, forgotten about, or just didn't
care enough to write them down):
* dillo
* task-proper-tools - I'm a busybox hater (change /bin/vi link to /usr/bin/vim)
* bash (update /etc/passwd appropriately)
* angstrom-task-sectest (configure /etc/kismet.conf - suiduser=me,
source=hostap,wlan0,zaurus , change channel list to non-US)
* flite (configure /etc/kismet_ui.conf - speech=true,
festival=/usr/bin/flite, flite=true, TODO: Speech sounds distorted,
maybe port espeak)
* angstrom-task-office
* angstrom-gpe-task-pim
* angstrom-gpe-task-apps
* angstrom-gpe-task-games
* angstrom-task-printing
* xmms (easymove mode, bug - '''DO NOT MINIMISE!''' shade main window
and position out of the way at top of screen instead! Really need a
music player designed for this type of device! Need to have option to
utilise external keys!)
* xmms-mad (NOT mpg123)
* xmms-tremor (NOT vorbis)
* xmms-plugin-output-alsa
* screen
* task-native-sdk
* mplayer (TODO: check bvdd support and overall performance compared
to version in cacko)
* mencoder
* subversion
* snes9x-sdl (TODO: check USB joystick support)
* aircrack-ng
* lsof
* macchanger
* mikmod
* photorec
* rsync
I also installed task-openmoko-base, but removed it and all it's
direct dependencies since none of them were working - icons were still
normal after installing this, but I'm wondering if it was perhaps a
glitch in the uninstallation or related some other way and just had a
delayed effect.
Also, while I'm writing, does anyone know how I would go about getting
the device to automatically suspend addon cards (eg wireless CF card)
when they are not in use to conserve the battery similar to how the
Sharp and derived Cacko distributions do?
And finally, regarding USB keyboards - how might I go about getting
the device to use separate keyboard layouts for the internal keyboard
and the USB keyboard, or if that is not easily possible, how would I
go about getting it to automatically switch layouts when I plug in an
external keyboard and switch back when I remove it?
Cheers,
-Ian
