I don't understand the comment about modules. For me, the modules
updated fine, to the 2.6.21 branch, and the first boot with the new
kernel automatically ran, apparently, the necessary configurations,
since now modules.alias and related files are there, and they weren't
before, and nothing I did had any effect, since although I did not know
it, I was updating the 2.6.20.6 modules, although the kernel was not
finding them, probably because the link in /boot/ to zImage was aimed at
2.6.21 (I'm guessing about that).
What went wrong with your modules, after you re-flashed?
