Sure, one sweet day that will happen, even though I find strange that by now it still hasn't, while there were several parties who played with it already (it would be natural to expect that they would care to let other folks to continue where they stopped, and, say, proceed with porting software to it, instead of dealing with boring issues like its own building again). And indeed, why rant about GPL on pragmatic user list? Appearance of qtopia4 itself won't bring much joy on its own - software is what it's worth. And according to OPIE2 founder, OPIE software cannot be just "ported", but mostly should be rewritten from scratch. And OPIE1 may be a bit old, but it has treasure chest of software with it. Ever compared OPIE with other big players on the market like PocketPC or Symbian? I can speak only for PocketPC, but even default install - PIM, File Manager - looks much more favorably comparing to default PocketPC. But the standard OPIE is more than that - one guy built a 500Mb image with OPIE software (disclaimer: I didn't see how much free space in it ;-) ), and it is always at users fingertips. So well, OPIE won't going to die that easy, and going to keep its users much joy, as it has being doing for long time. And OPIE-in-OE maintainers just now finish cleaning it up per Angsttrom's requirements, so hopefully soon it will acquire "supported" status. (Developers could have been built images for a long time now.) -- Best regards, Paul mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] _______________________________________________ Angstrom-distro-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.linuxtogo.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/angstrom-distro-users
