Hi, I downloaded

http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/unstable/feed/armv5te/machine/akita/kernel-image-2.6.22_2.6.22-r9_akita.ipk

(form my Akita) and uncompressed it on a desktop machine. Within you'll
find boot/zImage-2.6.22. You can copy it to a CF card, rename it as
appropriate for your device (zImage.bin on Akita), remove/rename the
rootfs image (initrd.bin on Akita) and reflash.

I had some problems with altboot on SD, but later I will check the bug
tracker and maybe open a bugreport.

I would like to ask the developers if it could be possible to rename the
kernel-module packages as

kernel-modulename-2.6.22

instead of

kernel-modulename_2.6.22

so to have different kernel modules installed. I had to follow a precise
update-sequence to have the network running: first altboot-SD-root (main
system), then internal-flash-root (a base system for emergency rescue),
then the kernel. Flashing the kernel before updating one of the root
could have led me to trouble (and possibly reflashing the whole system)

Bye.
