Hello angstrom-distro-users, Angstrom 2007.11-RC1 release is happening just as I write this. With entering Release Candidate phase, there're some changes in the downloads layout:
* http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/unstable/images/ , which used to contain automatically build, oftentimes untested, and by now very obsolete images, has been cleared off, and is intended to contain only tested images, signed off by the device mentors. So, if a directory for your device is empty, it means that the mentor needs your reassurance and maybe help. Go post message to the *user* list, or catch him on IRC. Get to know people - it's all about community! The master list of mentors is here: http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/machine-mentors . It doesn't include recently mentors who applied recently, but you can easily find application mails in devel archives. * http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/unstable/autobuild/ , which contains images built by Angstrom's continuous integration system. This is essentially what images/ was before, and it always has images to download (so, if someone tells you that Angstrom stopped providing/removed images for your device, that's not true). Note that images in this directory were not tested by mentors, and wait such testing before being moved to images/ for general access. That should hint how you can help your device mentors - you can download and try images from autobuild/, and report overall results to the *user* list (not that detailed bugreports should still go to the bugtracker). Please make sure that you give priority to testing: a) Important images. So, if there's an RC (like we have now), please test that, not a dated snapshot. b) Recent images, rather than older. Older images are kept for some time to help with regression testing, not for general use. Happy testing! -- Best regards, Paul mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] _______________________________________________ Angstrom-distro-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.linuxtogo.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/angstrom-distro-users
