A couple of years ago I was on a flight to Japan on an Airbus with 
in-seat entertainment.  The captain must have rebooted the system.

What came up was a standard linux framebuffer boot - complete with tux 
logo over the kernel messages.

That system, at least, used 640x480 framebuffer.  I didn't catch any 
details unfortunately.
