Buy Nokia N800/N810 instead. It runs Linux and most of default operating
system is open sourced. You can run Ångström or Poky on them.

Compared to Zaurus you will get:

- warranty
- easy to buy batteries
- easy to buy chargers
- internal BlueTooth
- internal WiFi
- internal camera (VGA only but exists)
- more internal storage (256MB Flash compared to 128MB in Zaurus models)
- with N810: mini-SD slot for storage + 2GB internal storage
- with N800: two SD slots for storage
- with N810: usable keyboard
- with N810: crappy (but existing) GPS

What you will lose:
- CompactFlash slot (mostly used for WiFi or BT which are inside N8x0)

No one knows, but they did. Personally I think that it was good move.

I see you're still suffering from Clue Deficit Disorder.
