Hi Morgan, I just tried out LAB and it boot's my Angstrom-Opie perfectly from my 512 CF card. Before i was using HaRET and this also worked.
I followed these instructions: http://handhelds.org/moin/moin.cgi/HpIpaqH2200LAB and got the LAB image also from the link published there: http://handhelds.org/~mreimer/zImage-LAB-20060421.htc Now this is my setup My CF card has 2 Partitons Partion 1 FAT12 3MB containing Haret.exe a zImage and startup text - This was for Haret boot from within WindowsCE Partion 2 ext2 the rest of the CF on the 2nd Partion I put an opie-image I managed to build yesterday. in the /boot directory i have 3 files labrun zImage -> zImage-2.6.21-hh20 zImage-2.6.21-hh20 the contents of my labrun: copy fs:/mnt/boot/zImage fs:/zImage umount /mnt armboot fs:/zImage "root=/dev/hda2 rootdelay=5" (all lines in labrun are with a newline at the end) NOTE: I have /dev/hda2 - 2nd Partition - You might need /dev/hda1 I hope this helps. bye , Franco Am Sonntag, den 30.03.2008, 16:39 +1300 schrieb Morgan Read: > Hi Folks > > I went straight for the LAB install because I can't be fussed with > mucking around with 'dose - haven't for some years now. > > Trouble is I got stuck here: > http://lists.linuxtogo.org/pipermail/angstrom-distro-users/2008-March/001569.html > > And advice on the devel list sent me back to thinking about haret: > http://lists.linuxtogo.org/pipermail/angstrom-distro-devel/2008-March/002183.html > > Which I thought was a bit weird as it says LAB is the way to go on for > h2200 on the "install instructions", here: > http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/taxonomy/term/2 > > But, from that devel post it seems sticking with windows on my device is > the recommended approach, so I went back to here: > http://linuxtogo.org/gowiki/WinCeQuickInstall > and quickly realised why I moved on from that page - I've bought myself > a 4G cf card particularly because I _do_ want a "dedicated partition on > a memory card". > > The best instructions I could find for this set up were over at > handhelds.org: > http://www.handhelds.org/moin/moin.cgi/CardBoot > > But, it's clear from that page that the file system set on the CF card > for a haret boot isn't compatible with the file systems provided for > Angstrom h2200, here: > http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/releases/2007.12/images/h2200/ > (kernel on a fat partition not at ext2 /boot etc) > > Are there any quick instructions for doing a stable boot of Angstrom > from CF card for someone who wants to use Angstrom/GPE and not "play" > with it?
