I'm sorry for the late and marginally useful reply, but I wanted to
confirm that my hx4700 has sometimes done the same thing.  It's either a
problem common to the hx4700, or some allergy the hx4700 is having to
its cursor pad driver in Angstrom.  In either case, it doesn't appear to
be unique to your setup or device.
