I have diagnosed the problem with booting a Zaurus from the SD card. It looks like the newest version of udev requires the rootfs to be mounted rw. If I change the S10checkroot symlink in /etc/rcS.d to S03checkroot, the image boots up fine.
I am not sure if this is the correct way to fix this or not. Any ideas?
