could just as easily be a beagleboard question, but i have the
angstrom beagleboard-demo-image running on a BB, and a beagle zippy
expansion board connected to it. i've plugged the zippy network port
into a hub and i'm looking for how to activate that net port (eth0?)
to request an IP address via DHCP.
here's the relevant(?) snippet from /etc/network/interfaces:
# Wired or wireless interfaces
auto eth0
iface eth0 inet dhcp
iface eth1 inet dhcp
i've tried the standard "ifup eth0", but i'm guessing that's not it.
ifconfig shows no eth0 device. thoughts? the power light on the
zippy network port is lit, so i at least know it's connected. thanks.
