Lex, First of all, thanks for your answers. Here is the answer to your first message.
I tried $ python make-bootbundle.py -o "outfile.exe" "haret-0.5.2.exe" "zImage-kexecboot-2.6.26-r12-splitz.bin" "initramfs-bootmenu-image-hx4700.cpio.gz" "startup.txt.bootimage" It results in a "outfile.exe" but my Hx4700 seems not to like it at all: --- HaRET boot Shutting down hardware Turning off MMU... In preloader PSR=600000df Tags relocated Kernel relocated Initrd relocated Jumping to Kernel... --- and does not anything of more. You can see that I tried with the 2.6.26-r12 image, which was really difficult to find on the Internet. I had however modified the startup.txt.bootimage consequently (to adopt the new kernel). I also tried with 2.6.21, but it fails too: it begins booting, then writes No bootable devices found. Insert bootable device! R: Reboot S: Rescan devices Why? -----Message d'origine----- De : [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] De la part de Lex Landa Envoyé : dimanche 1 novembre 2009 03:46 À : [email protected] Objet : Re: [Angstrom-distro-users] No WiFi on Angström Live Hi Merciadri, Thanks for your reply. I think it's time I tried to make my own .exe ramdisk/kernel/loader combination, so I can test if all this still works. Sadly, I have deleted many of my files and the Angstrom project have moved their files around, too. Merciadri Luca wrote: > Okay I am now only missing "initramfs-bootmenu-image-hx4700.cpio.gz". (The > startup.txt file was easy to find, but it was not set with the ".bootimage" > extension to the best of my memories). Good, I still have this and have put it here, temporarily. http://brooknet.imap.cc/initramfs-bootmenu-image-hx4700.cpio.gz > What do you want to speak about when you say "the old Angstrom download > location"? I am only missing this file to make the live image. Angstrom used to have a stable 2007.12 directory on their servers, but I was not able to find it when I looked just now. Since 2007.12 is deprecated in favour of newer images, much of the old stuff has disappeared. This is why I think that I should see if it's still possible to build these 'boot bundles' with more recent images, from the Narcissus auto-builder. Perhaps this system could be extended so that it could do these steps itself. I'll have a look at this today, and see if I can make a boot bundle. Cheers, Lex. _______________________________________________ Angstrom-distro-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.linuxtogo.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/angstrom-distro-users _______________________________________________ Angstrom-distro-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.linuxtogo.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/angstrom-distro-users
