Hi, This is just how isolate scope works. There was a bug that made it leak into places where it didn't belong. This bug was fixed in 1.2.0<https://github.com/angular/angular.js/blob/master/CHANGELOG.md#120-timely-delivery-2013-11-08> , but for your code to work, you don't need isolate scope, you need just a new scope. have a look: http://plnkr.co/edit/wq2jfQ6rhK4p9CsqjV2i?p=preview
