Hey guys the change of $scope.account = currUser worked.
What happened was I was setting each individual item like I did above and
like I mentioned it made the form stale meaning it did not update with
input changes because I was always grabbing the value initially. When I
removed that and just assigned the currUser object to the scope account
object it all worked.
I switched to value="{{}}" when my original attempt wasnt working because I
was trying something different.
