Billy,

The problem you have lies more in the way you hide your stuff. If ements 
are set to display:none before angular kicks in, those will be skipped. 
(well sort of, it is a more complex then that!)
just use angular itself to show/hide things. have a look at 
this: http://plnkr.co/edit/YqJlRnWbI3rSKS34NuK1?p=preview (not completely 
working, but it should get you going again!)
