Vasanth, Igor nevers mentions the $scope in that post does he? ;) He is right about that it is a waste of time to discuss the nitty gritty details of it!
But on a serious note, your model should not be build around $scope, nor around a controller. Fore sure you need a controller or a scope to ty it up to the template/view.
