1. Removed loop and alert() from code. Saved.
2. Closed Chrome.
3. Closed Git Bash shell, ending the Nodejs server instance.
4. Double-checked code to make sure loop and alert() are gone. They are.
5. Reboot, start server, visit page: Problem persists.

Something is 'caching' this 'process,' but I'm too new to know where to 
look outside of Chrome. Angular has a caching feature, but it's evidently 
disabled by default, and it may not even apply to $http.get
