Hi Hybrid,

Ahh, those pesky rumors ;)

There are performance issues if you don't write your application well. The
same goes for every other framework. When you write code that fights the
framework, it will be slow. That goes for all frameworks I have ever seen.
A lot depends on your needs, and what you are trying to build. Angular is
not the solution for every problem. (It comes pretty close tough!)

Also there is work being done on a future version. Aside from that the
current 1.x version is still under active development. If you need an
solution now, Angular 1.x is the best framework available.
If you can wait at least a year, the new version might be available. It
will be better. All lessons learned in the 1.x version will be addressed.
All pitfalls in the current iteration will be avoided. All new stuff like
web-components and ES6 will be able to work with that version. The current
version has a number of issues with those.
It is still far up in the air what it will do regarding migration of your
app. If written well, and according to a recommend style-guide, it might be
relatively painless. On the other hand, the migration might also require a
full rewrite. I don't know, I don't have a crystal ball!

At least the core team has publicly announced that the 1.x version will be
officially supported at least 1.5 years after the first release of 2.x, And
seeing the community support for 1.x it might be a supported long behind
that.

I hope this helps you a bit.
Regards
Sander
