How would angular know what to do without those keywords?
One can ask the same about:
for (let x=0;x<y;x+=1){
//Why do I need a FOR keyword? Or those stupid {} for <blank> sake?
}
Computers are stupid, you need to spell out to the letter what you want
them to do ;)
