Not sure if it’s included in the current alpha builds, but there [is|will be] an http service, that produces an observable. I don’t know if it is in a usable state yet, but if not, it will be soon. I could not find it in the main angular repo. For the time being, you can use the xhr service that is in the current build. xhr.get(url) returns a promise.
