[AngularJS] Inject Angular provider into a JS function

I am trying to create a generic JS function that would navigate to a 
provided state.
Something like this:
function goToState(state) {
    var stateTo = angular.injector(['$state']);
    stateTo.go(state);
}

Does not work. Any idea?
