Ok,
let someOutsideFuctionICanReferTo = () => console.log('hi');
somewhere inside the ng2 component
zone.bind(someOutsideFuctionICanReferTo)
This will make sure that the function is taken into account for change
detection, so you can drop the zone.run from your tick function.
