It's pure javascript (ES6), and called arrow functions 
<https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/JavaScript/Reference/Functions/Arrow_functions>.
 
Indeed similar to lambdas in other languages. Important note, arrow 
functions use a lexical scope. That means that the this. in an arrow 
function is the same as the function hosting it.
