Hi Thomas, I know both bootstrap, and material use a .forRoot <https://github.com/ng-bootstrap/ng-bootstrap/blob/master/src/index.ts#L94>() method on the module. I didn't really look into this (yet) but I highly suspect that it has a lot to do with the exact same issue you are having.
