I now see the error, though for the record, it is in
hero.service.provider.ts. I confirm that fixing it allows the code to run.
I am just learning how to debug Angular, and now see where this is flagged
in Chrome's Developer Tools. If anyone has advice on better debugging
environments I'd be interested.

In learning Angular there are a few issues such as this and another I ran
into
(http://stackoverflow.com/questions/42123253/angular-2-local-development-environment-runs-only-once-after-install-reproducib)

that make the learning curve more difficult than it needs to be. It will
be good to get these fixed.
