At the moment reactive forms (the name is wrong, it should be called 
imperative forms) seems to be the way most devs go. To be honest, I don't 
really like either way, and I would like to see something that's truly 
reactive based. Luckily for me, that's already on the core teams task roll. 
But don't hold your breath, it may take a while!

The real deciding factor would be, where do you feel more comfortable? If 
you like defining forms declarative in templates, go for that. If you 
prefer to do things imperative, go for that. One key tip might be, the 
advice of the gang of four is: 

> prefer declarative over imperative  


For myself, I base the decision on the task at hand. I favor template 
driven forms. But sometimes you need the extra control, so then I use 
imperative forms.
