Having very recent experience with something similar, I would say you'll need a week to set up and adjust your workflow. Then, if your code is mostly in services and if you had component based approach, "just changing the bindings" will take a few weeks to few months, depending how much work have you done.
But the thing is now just the start and you will probably need a few more weeks/months to do adjustments, move bindings from direct to services, from promises to observables, from JavaScript to typescript, to really get into the spirit of the switch to angular 5.
